Sue Findlay

Hello, my name is Sue Orcheston-Findlay and I am a qualified Person Centered counsellor. I see a number of clients in friendly, safe surroundings in my Dorchester counselling room and I also run weekly Heligan Mindfullness Classes.

There are many different reasons why people come to counselling. They may have unresolved issues, worries or setbacks. What ever the problem it helps to be able to talk in a safe, confidential space with a counsellor that you feel comfortable with.
Sometimes we experience times of discord and conflict in our lives. We find it hard to ask for help. The first step is sometimes very difficult, and we are not always sure who to talk to or even if talking to someone will help.

We get stuck in negative patterns of thinking. We don’t like to burden our families and friends with issues and worries so we try to work them out ourselves.
Being heard and understood is healing in itself. Taking the first step to seeking help from a professional is easier once you take action. This puts you back in control as when we feel out of control it can give rise to fearful thinking which is debilitating and unhelpful.
I am an experienced person centred counsellor offering face to face counselling working with time limted and long term counselling.

I have a comfortable and private room in the centre of Dorchester with parking outside or in the top of town carpark. The room is on the second floor. I can offer appointments during week days and early evening to suit your diary. Sessions are generally weekly and last for 1 hour. If you would like an initial appointment to find out further information and appointment times please see my contact page.

I have experience in the following: -

  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Depression
